Aidan was one of eight, two brothers; Pat and Cathal and five sisters; Catheda, Anne-marie, Thelma, Noreen and Leigh (me). His life was tragically cut short when he was murdered at the age of 21, sadly, right by his home in Islington- Justice has never been served. Aidan went to St Johns primary school and St Aloysius secondary. He was a keen boxer from a young age, and trained with the Angel ABC. It was definitely a passion of his which he had planned to pursue by eventually opening his own boxing club and training kids...sadly this dream was shattered. Aidan spent many holidays in Donegal, Ireland where our parents Nora and Pat are originally from. We have many cousins over there who were very fond of Aidan and often speak of his loss like 'losing a brother'. Aidan had the ability to make you smile, whoever you were, whether it was with his awful singing, dancing, cheeky grin or just by listening to one of his many stories which he told most enthusiastically often getting out of his seat to reenact what had happened and shouting so loudly the whole house could hear him. One thing mum always remembers about Aidan is the amount of times he would sit at breakfast- or dinner, and literally crack up laughing (obviously at what had ever happened the night before), it would be so lovely to hear some of those stories. Aidan's death no doubt effected the whole community, for such a popular, fit young man to be taken from us in such circumstances, has left many broken hearts, I know mine will always be broken and I'm sure my whole family feels the same. However, we do not want to always look back and cry, we want to be able to show everyone some wonderful pictures of Aidans short and sweet life and hope that others can do the same.
